Copy the full serial from the rating plate without guessing ambiguous characters. Enter the complete model number too: the serial-date and recall checks are independent, and full model text can materially strengthen a recall candidate.
Important limitation
The shared service-guide matrix names A. O. Smith, State, and American. Older, tankless, and alternate family formats are not coerced into this pattern.

Recall checking
